Solar guide
Research Methodology
How Focus Solar finds, evaluates, and presents sources for technical and buying guidance.
Source selection
Section titled “Source selection”We prefer standards bodies, government energy agencies, research laboratories, manufacturers’ current technical documentation, and established industry references. Secondary sources may be used for market context, practical examples, or explanations, but they do not automatically outweigh primary evidence.
How sources are used
Section titled “How sources are used”We compare publication date, geography, system type, units, boundary conditions, and the assumptions behind quoted figures. When evidence is location-specific, we avoid presenting it as universal. Cost, incentive, tax, tariff, and policy information should always be checked against current local sources before a purchase.
Calculations and comparisons
Section titled “Calculations and comparisons”Worked examples are designed to make the method inspectable. They are illustrative, not project bids or construction documents. Calculator equations and default assumptions are summarized in the Calculation Methodology.
